Capture the Flag is a part of Technex'17, the annual techno-management festival of Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi.

You'll get a chance to crack tough challenges related to assorted fields of computer security and hacking ranging from cryptography, cryptanalysis and steganography to SQL injection, JS injection and other web-based network penetration techniques.

Prizes Worth ₹50,000.

Rules

  • The creator of this contest is solely responsible for setting and communicating the eligibility requirements associated with prizes awarded to participants, as well as for procurement and distribution of all prizes. The contest creator holds HackerRank harmless from and against any and all claims, losses, damages, costs, awards, settlements, orders, or fines.

  1. It is an individual contest, therefore, during the contest, there must be no communications among the participants regarding the problem and it’s solution.

  2. The participants must abide by the rules and regulations of the platform the contest is hosted on.

  3. Any attempt of DDoS or hacking on the contest site other than what is permitted and/or intended by the organisers is strictly prohibited.

  4. All students and professionals are welcome to participate but only students shall be eligible for the prizes.

  5. To be eligible for prizes, the participant must also register via the registration link given on this page.

  6. Breaking any rule given in this manual by the participant shall incur penalties and/or disqualifications.

  7. The decision of the judges shall be final and binding.

Scoring

  • All the flags will be of the form technexctf{flag}.

  • Each challenge has a pre-determined score.

  • A participant’s score depends on whether or not his flag correctly matches with the answer.

  • If a participant submits more than one solution per challenge, then the participant’s score will reflect the highest score achieved. In a game challenge, the participant's score will reflect the last code submission.

  • If a participant submits more than one solution per challenge, then the participant’s score will reflect the highest score achieved.

  • Participants are ranked by score. If two or more participants achieve the same score, then the tie is broken by the total time taken for submitting the last correct code submission.
