Successfully managed a Hybrid Cloud architecture including over 90 servers running on a VMware 6.5 based Cisco UCS system with 3 Hyperflex nodes and EMC storage array. Took the IT dept. from a fire fighting mode into a proactively managed, quiet and stable environment. Optimized server performances and availability, and automated nightly backups and seamless archival file rotation. Worked with development team to troubleshoot issues. In addition, worked several side projects such as setting up and testing a replicated MySQL 5.7 DB, installing, configuring, and documenting customized shipping software, running and optimizing batch jobs for Big Data mining tasks, automated check and invoice printing jobs, performed quarterly Data Restore audits on 3 integrated systems (including the ERP and financial system), performed database refresh restores, worked with vendors and co-location facility to troubleshoot issues, open firewall ports, setup monitoring for servers, setup remote GUI access for a Linux RHEL based SAS install, document architecture, and occasionally fielded calls for the Helpdesk.

Contract work at IBM Corporation for one of the world’s largest Insurance Companies. Installed a distributed Netcool and ITM integrated solution into a fully High Availability and Disaster Recovery hybrid Cloud environment utilizing Power HA 7/HACMP. Travelled to data center for installation when remote access was unavailable. Gathered information and requirements necessary for the installation. Troubleshot and assisted resolution of remote SSH tunnel connectivity issues with SASGUI, plink, and putty. Requested firewall ports and verified via my authored script when they were opened. Performed Netcool Suite installation and configuration activities to bring it operational on AIX 7 according to Global Service Management Architecture specs and put it into production. Worked after-hours with overseas personnel to gather requirements information and to accomplish project on schedule.
Perl Developer

Contract work at Bank of America to support Customer Experience Monitoring (CEM), Banking Center Engineering (BCE), and Banking Center Refresh teams. Coded Win32 Perl, VB script and JavaScript based largely upon requirements received from TCS’s offshore BOA contact. Worked with both offshore and onshore TCS teams to resolve issues and receive tasking. Researched, re-coded, and tested Symantec Ghost script to migrate their Server Build CD to run off from a USB stick. Troubleshot and re-wrote script to disable bank teller workstations via the servers. Wrote a Perl script to monitor 40 lab systems on DHCP, which provides status via an HTML table output along with CSV input/export features. Troubleshot and attempted recovery of a Windows 2003 “Golden” server build image from a hard drive utilizing a newer server with an updated RAID controller. Suppressed extraneous CPU high alerting from tablets upon wake from sleep mode. Also reimaged testing workstations and servers using Ghost32.

Implemented and supported Intelsat’s OSS systems comprised primarily of the IBM Tivoli Netcool tool suite running on 64-bit Linux RHEL 6 as well as backend databases comprised of both MySQL and Oracle. Also supported Windows 2008 servers running Ciscoworks and Scientific Atlanta’s ROSA, and in addition operator’s Windows 7 workstations. Deployed probes, edited Rules Files and Impact Policies, Installed and Configured the entire Tivoli Netcool Suite including Impact and Reporter using Cognos and Oracle, implemented Netcool Precision, and troubleshot Netcool WebSphere WebGUI issues. Performed production server maintenance and both submitted and obtained sign-offs for change requests, as well as resolved end-user issues submitted via Remedy and company’s proprietary ticketing and project management systems. Architected, implemented and deployed a new highly optimized OSS stack of servers. Worked extensively with IBM’s advanced technical support team in order to troubleshoot complex and difficult issues in a timely fashion. Automated systems administration tasks and systems health checks (with e-mail notifications) utilizing Perl and Linux shell scripting. Troubleshot and resolved end user’s browser issues with Firefox, Chrome and Intenet Explorer since Tivoli Netcool’s front-end is WebSphere/Java based. Worked to resolve connectivity issues due to firewall, ACL and asymmetric routing issues.
