Welcome to Backend developer

In this test you will be presented with a number of trivial questions and programming exercises. You have 90 minutes, though likely need much less time. The timer only starts after you click "Start test", so take your time to read the instructions here.

 

The goal of this test is to avoid spam applications and early detection of applicants missing foundational knowledge. Later on in our hiring process, you will, amongst other things, be doing pair programming on a real world task and be interviewed by one of our developers. We'll be looking mostly at your values, passion and attitude.

 

The test starts with a set of simple multiple choice questions. At the end you have 3 small programming exercises. You can choose for each if you solve it using JavaScript, PHP, Python or Ruby. Solve Cupcake Feast and Chocolates using different languages if you are able to, and one of them with PHP.

 

To get familiarized with the HackerRank coding environment, you can try the Sample Test. To understand more about the environment, time limits, etc. you can read the FAQ here.

 

It is okay to use reference language documentation or use an IDE that has code completion features. However it is not acceptable to consult/copy code from any source including a website, book, or friend/colleague to complete these tests.
