Work Experience
Services Support Engineer
Unity Technologies•  November 2016 - January 2019
I acted as a subject matter expert on implementing and providing solutions related to: In-app purchasing (IAP), ads, analytics and multiplayer (with a focus on mobile gaming). This allowed me to learn concepts such as IAP implementation, good ad placement, gathering and utilising in-game data and improving gameplay with a social aspect. My team were spread out around the different Unity offices, which required me to travel and manage my time effectively, to work around time zones and utilise electronic communication effectively. This included sending week-logs and attending stand-ups to keep up to date with the rest of my team. During my spare time I continued to develop new games and refine existing ones.
Support Specialist
Unity Technologies•  May 2012 - November 2016
My main responsibilities were to answer support tickets raised via the forums and ticket system. These tickets ranged from simple account related issues through to complex tickets regarding the Unity editor and game development topics. This often required me to learn new features and concepts in game development within the Unity ecosystem. I was able to use the resources available to me to continue learning new skills and developing games in my spare time. Due to the technical nature of the tickets I learned C# with the help of my mentors. During this time I also gained Unity Certified Developer status and participated in the beta for the Unity Certified Gameplay Programmer course.
Intern
Unity Technologies•  February 2012 - May 2012
My role at Unity was within the support team where I helped developers using Unity to make their games. While working within support, I had access to mentors, resources and Unity developers. I used these resources to learn new skills and to develop games in Unity. After a few months as an Intern I was officially hired as a Support Specialist as I had proven my willingness to learn and performance in that role.
