Worked for Microsoft as a contracted vendor as a part of the Azure division. My main responsibilities were to improve my teams build tooling, but I contributed to a variety of projects as needed. As follows is a sampling of some of the bigger items I worked on: Build System Migration - Created a Proof-of-Concept to demonstrate feasibility of migrating team’s projects to a new build system - After POC, lead the migration effort of my team’s remaining projects to the new build system Converted projects from legacy tooling, and setup new repository to house converted projects - Reduced online repository build times from 24 hours (daily build) to less than 20 minutes per build - Created documentation on migration process to serve as a guide and as a way to gauge additional efforts Build Artifact Retrieval Utility - Lead search to find solution to team wanting to use non-supported artifact source with internal testing tool - Used C#, an internal API, and the Azure DevOps Server (ADO) API to create a command line utility which can be used to push build artifacts from Azure Pipeline Artifacts to a supported artifacts source for the testing tool - Reduced time to initiate pushing of build artifacts from several minutes to < 10 seconds Continuous Deployment Integration - Lead effort to integrate use of an internal service with an existing Azure Pipeline - Integration will enable continuous deployment for a project which is using a manual deployment process - Deployment reliability will improve due to potentially error prone manual deployment process being eliminated
