Software Engineer 5G TESTBED ON ZYNQ Graduation Project Al-Azhar University

Project object :Creating a cheap and small (5G) fifth-generation cellular standard tested on ZYNQ taking advantage of its processing and programmable logic properties. Solution is : a 5G testbed design which is based on reconfigurable components enabled by Software Defined Radios (SDRs), hardware design on the FPGA, and a GUI allowing users to control and reconfigure it. My Role :Software developer engineer who has transferred data from transmitter (GUI_ User) to receiver (Programmable logic of FPGA”PL”) passing by Processing System of FPGA (Ps which was applied at Linux Operating system -and that mainly the side i worked at as a Software developer in the project). My Technical approach Role briefly: 1-Firstly, We used Software to achieve dynamic tasks as if we only used Hardware ,only static tasks will be used. 2-Data comes from GUI by Socket programming communication (Ethernet protocol) then, go to user Space App “by using a sheet which detecting the function GUI need” then, data goes to A kernel module “also makes up data to go to PL by another sheet “then, adding it to the core image of Peta Linux and building all that in a generic open source machine emulator and visualizer called QEMU. 3-Last,Load data on Hardware-PL- in FIFO memory which can read and write from it between kernel module device driver and Hardware-FPGA-then, data can be arrived at Hardware modulation to complete testing cycle. 4-Beside all that, I helped the Hardware team in the Matlab simulation best design way -for both OFDM and FBMC modulation- and participated in all proposals and reports we needed as a project member. Project future plans: 1-Complete our prototype. 2-Adding more techniques to our design. 3-Publishing a research paper. 4-Participating in IBTIECAR and other. 5-suitable competitions. Project achievements: 1-Funded from the ITAC programme provided by ITIDA. 2-Participating in the ITC 2021 conference with a Graduation Project Poster. Modified and created customized and standard applications in line with software engineering best practices and standards. Reviewed software documentation to verify technical accuracy and compliance or completeness. Designed, developed and deployed software to meet project needs.Documented and demonstrated solutions by developing flowcharts, layouts and diagrams in clear code. Developed software solutions by studying information needs and conferring with the rest graduation project team. Collected and reviewed data to analyze system capabilities and development requirements.
