Work Experience
Software Engineer
General Electric (GE)• October 2016 - Present
I've started as a trainee in a Java Academy program, to convert me from a physicist to a programmer. In my first team, I was responsible for building an Angular2 based frontend for the teams backend. This app was a centralized installer for the product.I occasionally had to setup machines (redhat) and manually test installation/setup processes. In my second team, I was developing java features to a submodule in the main product of the department, dealing with stream DICOM images and using PESI data. In this team I was also recruited temporarily as a tester for 5 months. My current team is the DevOps team, where I am a medior internal tool developer and a junior DevOps engineer. I am responsible for upgrading a custom dashboard (for our devs and product management), which uses MongoDB/JavaSpring2/Angular tech stack. It integrates with our ALM system, our ticketing system and a static code analyzer and uses OIDC to authenticate. Another custom tool - where the frontend was fully developed by me - is a vm/asset registry and reservation tool. This is a MariaDB/Python Flask/Angular tech stack. This tool is capable of fully deploying a new VM with the necessary packages installed, inside a VMWare VCenter. I was responsible for building this deployment microservice in Golang, which communicates with VCenter via govmomi package. This tool ecosystem lives in kubernetes, where the Helm chart was defined by me. My current focus is on upgrading Frontend features for internal tools or sometimes in the main product line as well, while learning Golang and Kubernetes to better serve as the rare DevOps engineer.
