Free Fall Entertainment• September 2008 - March 2011
During the Games Development course I attended at Canterbury College myself and two friends setup an indie development company to develop a unique game idea that we came up with that would be beneficial to primary school children. Aimed at 4-12 year olds the game dubbed “Age of Cogman” would take kids on a small adventurous journey through time with many puzzles that would help them learn new things such as Maths, English and Science. During this time we explored creating our own game’s engine using Microsoft’s XNA Program for Xbox 360 and Windows games development and later decided to utilize Epic Game’s UDK (Unreal Developer Kit). I was responsible for designing the games levels and convey between Art and Story the other two colleagues had built up during this time. During level design periods I was also programming new AI into the game using UnrealScript, to do this I utilized the XCode plugin for Visual Studio. During September 2010 we were in discussions with Sony in the possibility of developing the game for PlayStation 3, but sadly due to them closing the Liverpool studio this deal fell through and Free Fall Entertainment later decided to part ways.
