An 8 hour Machine Learning Contest

The contest has ended

Inside is a brain teaser for all the Machine Learning enthusiasts. We present you one of the finest AI Challenges we have ever hosted. This time we have real data from a rare source Topcoder. This is also an actual application that you will end up using if you are an avid programmer. Come see us on May 25th

The Prizes

We're going to have a prize system to appreciate winners from 3 bands (1-50, 51-100 and 150-250). The range of the bands might vary depending on the number of participants in the contest.

  • Band 1 - Rank #1 gets an office hour with Pieguy, a red Topcoder and an engineer with Memsql. We also have a surprise gift for you, which will be announced during the contest.
  • Band 2 - Ranks #1, #2 & #3 from this band will each win a copy of "Machine Learning for Hackers"
  • Band 3 - Ranks #1 & #2 from this band will each win a copy of "Collective Intelligence"

Challenges

The challenge is to predict a user's rating in the forthcoming contests given the data. We have real data of 2000 users from Topcoder as training data for the challenge.

Sponsors

Memsql is interested in hiring top contestants from the contest. They are working to change how data should be stored, distributed, and accessed. That’s a big problem with bragging rights attached. Data is expanding so fast that existing databases can’t keep up, and when your modern application connects to a decades-old technology, it’s pretty easy to isolate the bottleneck. MemSQL engineers relish those kinds of challenges and enjoy the autonomy to solve them.
