Kafka

Basic

Apache Kafka makes it possible for large-scale data movement with high reliability.

This key competency includes Understanding Apache Kafka Architecture, Kafka Clusters, Kafka Messaging Systems, Understanding Apache Kafka Partitions and Brokers, and Kafka Producers and Consumers, among others.

Key Competencies:

  1. Understanding Apache Kafka Architecture - Kafka's main architectural components include Producers, Topics, Consumers, Consumer Groups, Clusters, Brokers, Partitions, Replicas, Leaders, and Followers.
  2. Knowledge about Kafka Clusters - In the distributed streaming system, the Kafka cluster stores streams of records in categories called topics.
  3. Knowledge about Kafka Messaging Systems - Apache Kafka is a distributed publish-subscribe messaging system and a robust queue that can handle a high volume of data and enables you to pass messages from one end-point to another. Kafka is suitable for both offline and online message consumption.
  4. Understanding Apache Kafka Partitions and Brokers - In Kafka, partitioning is what enables data locality, elasticity, scalability, and high performance. A Kafka broker allows consumers to fetch messages by topics, partition, and offset.
  5. Kafka Producers and Consumers - A producer is an entity/application that publishes data to a Kafka cluster, which is made up of brokers. A broker is responsible for receiving and storing the data when a producer publishes it. A consumer then consumes data from a broker at a specified offset.
