The Programming Club of IST (PCIST) proudly presents Battle of Brains 2025, a high-stakes intra-institute contest where the brightest coders come together to compete, collaborate, and conquer. Whether you're an experienced competitive programmer or just beginning your journey, this is your chance to shine on the campus stage.

Rules

  • The creator of this contest is solely responsible for setting and communicating the eligibility requirements associated with prizes awarded to participants, as well as for procurement and distribution of all prizes. The contest creator holds HackerRank harmless from and against any and all claims, losses, damages, costs, awards, settlements, orders, or fines.

📢 BATTLE OF BRAINS 2025 Contest Rules

1. Team Formation
- Each team must consist of three students. If can't find three members at a time , then can form a team consisting two members. - Teams must be registered officially before the deadline — no last-minute team changes allowed.

2. Eligibility
- Only currently enrolled students are eligible to participate.

3. Contest Format
- Duration: 5 hours.
- Number of problems: 8 to 12, of varying difficulty levels (easy, medium, hard).
- Each team will have access to one pc of IST lab only. 🔴 Create an email by the name of your team. Then create an account in HackerRank with that email and set your team name as username/full name . Account creation link : https://www.hackerrank.com/auth/signup

4. Allowed Materials
- Teams are allowed to bring a printed hard copy (maximum 25 pages) containing:
- *Pseudocode, **algorithms, **standard templates* etc.

  • No softcopy, internet, or mobile phone, personal laptop access will be permitted during the contest. 5. Code of Conduct
  • No communication with other teams during the contest.
  • No external help (faculty, friends, internet sources, chat apps).
  • Plagiarism is strictly prohibited — teams found copying or collaborating will be disqualified immediately.
  • Only the standard libraries are allowed; usage of third-party libraries is not permitted.

6. Submissions and Judging
- Submissions must be compilable and executable without errors.
- Each incorrect submission before a correct one will add a penalty.
- Rankings are based first on *number of problems solved, then **total penalty time*.
- Judges’ decisions regarding problem statements, clarifications, and scoring are final and non-negotiable.

7. Technical Environment
- Allowed programming languages: **C, C++, Java, Python etc.. - Teams are responsible for understanding the environment setup before the contest.

8. Integrity and Discipline
- Any attempt to cheat, misuse material, using AI chatbot, or violate rules will result in immediate disqualification.
- Maintain professional behavior throughout the contest.

9. Post-Contest
- After the contest, teams may be asked to explain their solutions to judges if any suspicious activity is detected.
- Top 3 teams will receive certificates and prizes. Every team participating will get participation certificate.
