About

With this competition we aim to introduce participants to the amazing world of meta-heuristics algorithms that are the basis of some AI techniques, in a competitive way. The problems in this contest are NP complete problems, participants could use either a greedy algorithm specific to the problem in hand, or they can implement meta-heuristic algorithms wish will guarantee them a good score if used in the right way.

Rules

  • The creator of this contest is solely responsible for setting and communicating the eligibility requirements associated with prizes awarded to participants, as well as for procurement and distribution of all prizes. The contest creator holds HackerRank harmless from and against any and all claims, losses, damages, costs, awards, settlements, orders, or fines.

Scoring

  • Each problem has a pre-determined score.
  • A team’s score depends on the number of test cases a participant submission successfully passes and in how good their algorithm is.
  • If a participant submits more than one solution per challenge, then the participant score will reflect the highest score achieved.
  • Participant teams are ranked by score. If two or more participant teams achieve the same score, then the tie is broken by the total time taken to submit the last solution resulting in a higher score.
