Picture division is the division of a picture into locales or classes, which relate to various items or portions of articles. In short, pixelated images distributed to one of some of these classes.
8 connectivity refers to a pixel(A), that is connected to another pixel(B), from one of the eight directions, i.e., B must be either of DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT/EITHER OF ADJACENT DIAGONAL pixel to A.
8-connected objects means a group of pixels that are 8 connected.
Here
is one 8-connected object and
is the other 8-connected object
Hope this clears the concept!
Edit:
Right. So the person who wrote this 'test' doesn't seem to understand what 8 pixel connectivity is. Properly, it is a pixel that has a neighbor in all four diagonals, both horizontals, and both verticals. The example given should not return 2, it should return 0. The author also does not understand 4 pixel connectivity either as the previous problem should not return 7. This is an embarrassment to the site that these problems are still up. This is why my employer and others are turning to better 'test' sites for prospetive employees.
Is the test-case broken?
My C++ solution doesn't pass although the expected result matches my result (2).
When I look at the input it is a blank page.
