Does anyone else feel slighty confused by the wording of this problem?
The Utopian Tree goes through 2 CYCLES of growth every YEAR. Each spring, it doubles in height. Each summer, its height increases by 1 meter.
Laura plants a Utopian Tree sapling with a height of 1 meter at the onset of spring. How tall will her tree be after N growth CYCLES?
I have been basing my solution around cycles. No where in the problem statement does it clarify that a year is a single growth cylce. If that is the case the last line should be written:
"How tall will her tree be after N growth YEARS?"
I am I the only one tripped up by this?
