How to clean curtains
Any housewife knows that spring and a good mood do not begin on March 1, but with clean windows and fresh curtains. And if washing windows is a labor-intensive but relatively simple task, then with curtains the task becomes much more complicated: they need to be taken down, washed, ironed and hung back.
If you don't like messing around with hooks and a stepladder, there is a simple way out of the situation - wash the curtains without removing them from the curtain rod. Read our article to find out how to do this.
Cleaning classic curtains
Sliding curtains are those that move along a cornice, stationary curtains are those that remain stationary. There is no fundamental difference for curtain cleaning in Dubai, but it can be assumed that dust will more readily linger on stationary structures.
We remove dust with a vacuum cleaner
A vacuum cleaner is your first assistant if you have heavy curtains at home. It will be good for fabrics that do not tolerate wet cleaning, for a quick weekly cleaning of curtains.
Shake out the curtains (it's best to open the window and do this in the fresh air).
Attach a special attachment for curtains and upholstered furniture to the vacuum cleaner. If you don't have one, wrap a regular brush attachment with a slightly damp, thin cloth and secure it with a rubber band.
Straighten the curtains as much as possible from folds and vacuum them from top to bottom at low power. It is convenient to do this with a compact cordless device. You need to clean the curtains from both sides.
Removing Stains with Vinegar, Soap and... an Eraser
After dusting, stains need to be removed. Of course, if there are many of them, it is easier to resort to standard washing. But individual stains can be removed without removing the curtains from the cornice.
A soap solution works well on dirt stains. It is best to dilute it in a bowl and beat it a little until foam forms. Gently apply this foam to the stain with a sponge or soft toothbrush (if the fabric is thick). Wait a few minutes. Then carefully collect the remaining foam with a damp sponge or cloth and go over it with a dry terry towel.
A solution with dishwashing liquid will help remove greasy stains. The principle of operation is the same as with a soap solution.
Vinegar solution has proven itself to be a good choice – it can be used to clean a variety of stains. Dilute vinegar with water in a ratio of 1 to 4. For convenience, pour the solution into a spray bottle and spray the stain. Then dry with a hairdryer. The advantage of vinegar is that it evaporates quickly and does not need to be washed off. To make the solution smell less strong, you can add a little soda to it.
Stubborn stains, such as paint, are best treated with special stain removers that do not contain bleach.
A regular eraser will help in case of dark spots on blackout curtains with a smooth vinyl surface.
Steam cleaner for curtains
Using a steam cleaner helps to refresh the appearance of curtains, removes some types of stains, and for many fabrics is the only way to safely iron them. However, steam is not allowed for pleated curtains, velvet and all fabrics that shrink heavily.
It is important to understand that the steam cleaner does not have a suction function, and if used incorrectly, dust will become even more embedded in the textile. To prevent this from happening, you must:
First remove dust with a vacuum cleaner;
use a special attachment;
When cleaning the curtain, hold the nozzle at an angle of approximately 45 degrees to knock the dust out;
After the curtains have dried, vacuum them again.

Scoring
Each challenge has a pre-determined score.
A participant’s score depends on the number of test cases a participant’s code submission successfully passes.
If a participant submits more than one solution per challenge, then the participant’s score will reflect the highest score achieved. In a game challenge, the participant's score will reflect the last code submission.
Participants are ranked by score. If two or more participants achieve the same score, then the tie is broken by the total time taken to submit the last solution resulting in a higher score
