VIT Pune's extravagant inter-college event is back with a number of events, competitions and workshops. Codathon is a coding competition that will test the individual coding skill of all users. From a simple Recursion problem to mind-crunching Data Structures, buckle up.

Prizes

  • 1st Prize: INR 2000
  • 2nd Prize: INR 1000

Rules

  • The creator of this contest is solely responsible for setting and communicating the eligibility requirements associated with prizes awarded to participants, as well as for procurement and distribution of all prizes. The contest creator holds HackerRank harmless from and against any and all claims, losses, damages, costs, awards, settlements, orders, or fines.

  • The event will be held in two rounds.
  • All the rounds will be held on Hackerrank, so create an account if you don’t already have one.
  • Round-1: Round one will test your understanding of basic programming
  • concepts and linear Data Structures.
  • Round-2: Round two will consist of linear and advanced data structures and
  • famous interview problems.
  • The participants will be judged on the number of problems they are able to
  • solve in the least amount of time.
  • In case of a tie, the most optimized solution will be granted a higher
  • position.
  • The committee is not responsible for any kind of internet issues faced by the
  • participants during the contest.
  • If the participant is caught engaging in any kind of malpractice or
  • plagiarizing the code, they will be disqualified immediately.
  • The decision of the organizing committee on ranking and disqualification
  • will be final and binding.

Scoring

  • Each challenge has a pre-determined score.
  • A participant’s score depends on the number of test cases a participant’s code submission successfully passes.
  • If a participant submits more than one solution per challenge, then the participant’s score will reflect the highest score achieved. In a game challenge, the participant's score will reflect the last code submission.
  • Participants are ranked by score. If two or more participants achieve the same score, then the tie is broken by the total time taken to submit the last solution resulting in a higher score
