About

Code Squad V3.0 is an inter university problem solving coding competition organized by the CENSOC - Computer Engineering Society, Faculty of Engineering, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Code Squad scopes over a wide range of computer science domains to practice different programming paradigms as functional programming. Code Squad was initiated with the aim of polishing the programming skills of the undergraduates while inspiring and exposing them towards the arena of internationally based programming competitions. Code Squad will be the best platform for you to stimulate your thirst for programming challenges and to be competitive.

Rules

  • The creator of this contest is solely responsible for setting and communicating the eligibility requirements associated with prizes awarded to participants, as well as for procurement and distribution of all prizes. The contest creator holds HackerRank harmless from and against any and all claims, losses, damages, costs, awards, settlements, orders, or fines.
  • Code directly from our platform, which supports over 30 languages. Learn more here.
  • Team ranking is done according to ‘HackerRank’ and every team will be given a live screen that indicates their current position.
  • In case of a tie between two or more teams, there will be a 10 min lightning round. The first team to submit the correct answer will win. If a lightning round is also a tie, overall time (shown in the HackerRank leaderboard) will be considered.
  • All submissions must be made from a HackerRank account with the teams’ names. Any other submissions will not be counted.
  • Any type of plagiarism during the contest will not be tolerated. The organizing committee can disqualify the team if any type of plagiarism is found.
  • During the contest a team cannot communicate with other teams, or with any third party other than Code Squad v3.0 officials. (Every team will be strictly monitored.)
  • For any problem a team can contact officials.
  • In any case moderators have authority to take a viva for further clarification to avoid plagiarism. All the participant should follow the moderators' decisions.
  • All participants should stick to the given time.
  • No extra time will be given at any cost even if you are late.
  • Decisions of the moderators will be the final and you have to agree to these decisions at all times.

Scoring

  • Each challenge has a pre-determined score.
  • A participant’s score depends on the number of test cases a participant’s code submission successfully passes.
  • If a participant submits more than one solution per challenge, then the participant’s score will reflect the highest score achieved. In a game challenge, the participant's score will reflect the last code submission.
  • Participants are ranked by score. If two or more participants achieve the same score, then the tie is broken by the total time taken to submit the last solution resulting in a higher score
