Code Squad V3.0 is an inter university problem solving coding competition organized by the CENSOC - Computer Engineering Society, Faculty of Engineering, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Code Squad scopes over a wide range of computer science domains to practice different programming paradigms as functional programming. Code Squad was initiated with the aim of polishing the programming skills of the undergraduates while inspiring and exposing them towards the arena of internationally based programming competitions. Code Squad will be the best platform for you to stimulate your thirst for programming challenges and to be competitive.

Prizes

Top 15 teams will be qualified to the CODE SQUAD V3.0 Final Round that will be held as a physical event on 3rd December from 12.00 noon to 6.00PM at the Faculty of Engineering, USJ premises.

▫ 1st Place - LKR 20,000

▫ 2nd Place - LKR 15,000

▫ 3rd Place - LKR 10,000

▫ For top ten teams - LKR 2,000

▫ For top fifteens - A certificate

All the participants will be recognized with an e-certificate.
(Must try at least one question in the prelimiary round)

Rules

  • The creator of this contest is solely responsible for setting and communicating the eligibility requirements associated with prizes awarded to participants, as well as for procurement and distribution of all prizes. The contest creator holds HackerRank harmless from and against any and all claims, losses, damages, costs, awards, settlements, orders, or fines.

  • The competition will be held in two stages, the selection round within 2 hours and the final round within 6 hours.
  • This is a team competition , Each team should consist 3 Undergraduates of any University in Sri Lanka.
  • Only the account that you provided in registrations must be used in the competition by all three members.
  • You cannot change your three members during or after the first round of the tournament.
  • Among the registered teams , 15 teams will be selected based on the final score of the team. Score will be given according to the 'HackeRank'.
  • A team is allowed to skip a question if they desire, during the solving.
  • Team ranking is done according to ‘HackerRank’ and every team will be given a live screen that indicates their current position.
  • The winning team is selected which has solved the maximum number of questions within the given time in efficient manner.
  • Final round will be held physicaly at Faculty of Engineering University of Sri Jayewardenepura premises.
  • In any case moderators have authority to take a viva for further clarification to avoid plagiarism. All the participant should follow the moderators' decisions.
  • No plagiarism will be torelated.
  • All participants should stick to the given time.
  • No extra time will be given at any cost even if you are late.
  • Decisions of the moderators will be the final and you have to agree to these decisions at all times.

Scoring

  • Each challenge has a pre-determined score.
  • A participant’s score depends on the number of test cases a participant’s code submission successfully passes.
  • If a participant submits more than one solution per challenge, then the participant’s score will reflect the highest score achieved. In a game challenge, the participant's score will reflect the last code submission.
  • Participants are ranked by score. If two or more participants achieve the same score, then the tie is broken by the total time taken to submit the last solution resulting in a higher score
