Welcome to the "Structured Programming Challenge" – a thrilling programming contest tailored for students who are mastering the art of structured programming languages! This competition is designed to put your coding skills to the test, giving you a platform to apply what you've learned in your structured programming course.

We are pleased to announce that the prizes for this competition will be awarded in the form of grades to recognize your outstanding performance in the course.

Rules

  • The creator of this contest is solely responsible for setting and communicating the eligibility requirements associated with prizes awarded to participants, as well as for procurement and distribution of all prizes. The contest creator holds HackerRank harmless from and against any and all claims, losses, damages, costs, awards, settlements, orders, or fines.

  • Eligibility: This contest is open to all students currently enrolled in the "Structured Programming Language" course. Participants should be able to submit proof of their student status if required.
  • Programming Language: All solutions submitted for the contest must be written in the C programming language.
  • Plagiarism: Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. Participants must write their code independently. Any form of plagiarism will result in disqualification.
  • Team Size: Participants can compete individually. No team entries are allowed.
  • Code Submission: Participants are required to submit their code for each problem through the designated submission system. It is the participant's responsibility to ensure the code compiles and runs without errors.
  • Problem Solving: The contest will consist of a set of problems that test various aspects of structured programming. Participants must solve the problems individually.
  • Submission Deadline: All code submissions must be made before the contest's end time. Late submissions will not be considered.
  • Code Quality: Code quality, readability, and adherence to best practices are encouraged. Clear and well-documented code may receive higher consideration in case of ties.
  • Planned Solutions: Sharing or discussing solutions during the contest with other participants is not allowed. It is recommended that participants keep their solutions confidential until the contest concludes.
  • Disqualification: Any participant found violating the rules, engaging in unethical conduct, or attempting to disrupt the competition in any way may be subject to disqualification.
  • Judging: Problems will be judged based on correctness and efficiency of the code.
  • Grading: Grades for the contest will be awarded based on the performance of participants in solving the problems. The specific grading criteria will be provided with the contest materials.
  • Results and Prizes: Contest results will be announced after the contest's conclusion. The winners will receive higher grades based on their performance, contributing to their course grades.
  • Questions and Support: Participants can seek clarification on contest rules and problems through the designated communication channels. Any disputes or concerns should be addressed through the provided support contact.
  • Rights: The contest organizers reserve the right to modify the rules or disqualify participants in the event of unforeseen circumstances or violations of the contest rules.

Scoring

  • Each challenge has a pre-determined score.
  • A participant’s score depends on the number of test cases a participant’s code submission successfully passes.
  • If a participant submits more than one solution per challenge, then the participant’s score will reflect the highest score achieved. In a game challenge, the participant's score will reflect the last code submission.
  • Participants are ranked by score. If two or more participants achieve the same score, then the tie is broken by the total time taken to submit the last solution resulting in a higher score
