Welcome to the final round of Gainwell's Summer Code Fest for 2023!

This is a new thing for us and Gainwell, so we encourage you to leave feedback and help us learn what you like and/or dislike about your experience. You can do so by following this Microsoft Forms link: https://forms.office.com/r/Xd6mTMhXUG

If you have any questions or concerns, you can out to us via email or Teams:

  • Darren Finch: darren.finch@gainwelltechnologies.com
  • Shandon Probst: shandon.probst@gainwelltechnologies.com

Once again, if you are an intern and would like to participate in this contest, please make your mentor aware and plan responsibly to avoid any work conflicts.

Rules

  • The creator of this contest is solely responsible for setting and communicating the eligibility requirements associated with prizes awarded to participants, as well as for procurement and distribution of all prizes. The contest creator holds HackerRank harmless from and against any and all claims, losses, damages, costs, awards, settlements, orders, or fines.
  • Code directly from our platform, which supports over 30 languages. Learn more here.
  • All team members will be expected to make an effort to contribute to their team's submissions.
  • Some, but not all, external resources are allowed. Resources that can solve a challenge for you, such as ChatGPT, are prohibited in this contest; however, resources like StackOverflow may be allowed as long as the solution is original in nature.
  • Discussion of challenges with participants outside of your team is strictly prohibited.

Scoring

  • Each challenge has a pre-determined score.
  • A team’s score depends on the number of test cases a team member’s code submission successfully passes.
  • Only one team member's solution will count towards their team's score for a given challenge.
  • If a team member submits multiple solutions to a single challenge, then the team member’s score will reflect the highest score achieved.
  • Team scores will totaled by taking the highest scoring solution submitted by a team member for a given challenge across all challenges.
  • If two teams achieve the same final score, they will remain officially tied. The one exception to this rule is if the 1st and 2nd place teams achieve the same score in the Final Round. In this case, we will hold a deadmatch round between the 1st and 2nd place teams to break the tie if both teams vote to do so.
  • Team scores will be calculated on Wednesday and Friday and sent out to every participant as an update. We encourage you to stay competitive!
