About

The National Olympiad in Informatics is Sri Lanka’s leading computing competition for secondary school students. The Final Round of NOI 2022 will select the Sri Lankan Delegation for the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) 2022 that will be held in Indonesia.

Prizes

  • The top-performing contestants will get awards & an opportunity to represent Sri Lanka at the International Olympiad in Informatics 2022.
  • All finalists will receive a certificate.

Rules

  • The creator of this contest is solely responsible for setting and communicating the eligibility requirements associated with prizes awarded to participants, as well as for procurement and distribution of all prizes. The contest creator holds HackerRank harmless from and against any and all claims, losses, damages, costs, awards, settlements, orders, or fines.
  • Code directly from our platform, which supports over 30 languages. Learn more here.
  • Each submitted code must be written in C++. No other programming languages are permitted as per the IOI rules.
  • Competitors are allowed to refer to the language documentation of C++.
  • Competitors must work alone.
  • Competitors are allowed to use a dictionary to overcome the language barrier when necessary. Online dictionaries shall not be allowed. You are allowed to bring a dictionary from home.
  • Competitors will write programs to compute the solutions and submit the solutions for evaluation via the HackerRank platform.
  • Time and memory limits will be specified for every task.
  • The memory limit is the overall memory usage including executable code size, stack, heap, etc.
  • The solutions must be original. Any case of code plagiarism will disqualify the competitor.
  • The competitors are strongly advised not to involve in any unethical conduct which could disqualify them from the competition.
  • The decision of the Scientific Committee of the National Olympiad in Informatics is final in all matters.

Scoring

  • Each challenge has a predetermined score.
  • A competitor’s score depends on the number of test cases a competitor’s code submission successfully passes.
  • If a competitor submits more than one solution per challenge, then the competitor’s score will reflect the highest score achieved.
  • A competitor's total score is the sum of the scores earned for each problem attempted.
  • Competitors are ranked by score. If two or more competitors achieve the same score, then the tie is broken by the total time taken to submit the last solution resulting in a higher score.
