The name being a subtle giveaway, ‘Pass the Baton’ can be deemed as the Relay Race in Coding Community, where coders take turn in solving the same problem. One match! Three Problems! Three of you!   • The creator of this contest is solely responsible for setting and communicating the eligibility requirements associated with prizes awarded to participants, as well as for procurement and distribution of all prizes. The contest creator holds HackerRank harmless from and against any and all claims, losses, damages, costs, awards, settlements, orders, or fines.

  1. Inter-college teams are not allowed. Every team member must be from the same college.

  2. Team size should be exactly 3.

  3. Only Submissions made through the team lead's account will be considered. Submissions from any other account will not be considered.

  4. Please refrain from discussing strategy during the contest.

  5. All submissions are run through a plagiarism detector. Any case of code plagiarism will disqualify both users from the contest.

  6. The first round is an online preliminary round.

  7. Teams moving to the finals from online prelims will be declared within a week.

  8. Teams who did not make to the finals from online prelims may take part in the onsite prelims. However, the team should not change.

  9. The final round "Pass The Baton" is a 2-hour long event. It will be divided into 3-time slots.The first slot will be of 50 minutes, second of 40 minutes and the third of 30 minutes. The members of the team will interchange after the end of each slot and will continue with the code written by their teammate.

  10. The decision of the Code Club JUSL officials is final and binding.

Scoring

  • Each challenge has a pre-determined score.
  • A participant’s score depends on the number of test cases a participant’s code submission successfully passes.
  • If a participant submits more than one solution per challenge, then the participant’s score will reflect the highest score achieved. In a game challenge, the participant's score will reflect the last code submission.
  • Participants are ranked by score. If two or more participants achieve the same score, then the tie is broken by the total time taken to submit the last solution resulting in a higher score
