Second Annual Penn State Generative AI Contest.

Prizes

The top three teams will receive prizes, with 450 dollars total for the members of the first place team, 350 dollars for the second place team, and 300 dollars for the third place team.

Rules

  • The creator of this contest is solely responsible for setting and communicating the eligibility requirements associated with prizes awarded to participants, as well as for procurement and distribution of all prizes. The contest creator holds HackerRank harmless from and against any and all claims, losses, damages, costs, awards, settlements, orders, or fines.

  • To compete, you must be a current PSU undergraduate student.
  • You can compete in a team of up to 3 students. You cannot ask anybody else for help during the contest. Each team should use only one computer during the competition.
  • You can use (and you are encouraged to use) ChatGPT or other generative AI system to help you in the contest.
  • The contest will be hosted on the HackerRank platform.
  • There will be a Zoom link that anyone can use to connect during the competition, for general information and to get answers to specific questions.
  • These URLs will be provided in an email sent to student who have registered for the contest.

Scoring

  • Each challenge is worth the same amount.
  • A team’s score depends on the number of test cases a team’s code submission successfully passes.
  • If a team submits more than one solution per challenge, then the team’s score will reflect the highest score achieved.
  • Teams are ranked by score. If two or more teams achieve the same score, then the tie is broken by the total time taken to submit the last solution resulting in a higher score
  • There is no penalty for multiple submissions
