PyHack 2.0, is the annual coding competition organized by the IEEE WIE affinity group of IIT. PyHack aims to foster innovation,collaboration, and knowledge sharing among university students, with a special focus on promoting gender diversity and inclusion in the tech community.Building on the success of PyHack 1.0 in 2021, this year' sevent will feature an expanded format,encompassing bothan Inter University Hackathon and aexclusive Inter School Hackathon.

Rules

  • The creator of this contest is solely responsible for setting and communicating the eligibility requirements associated with prizes awarded to participants, as well as for procurement and distribution of all prizes. The contest creator holds HackerRank harmless from and against any and all claims, losses, damages, costs, awards, settlements, orders, or fines.

Dear Participants, Welcome to PYHACK 2.0, To ensure a fair and smooth competition experience, please carefully review the following rules and guidelines:

  1. Hackerrank Account Requirement:

    • As previously mentioned, every team must have an active Hackerrank account.
    • After creating your account, please rename it according to your group name. This will help us identify your submissions correctly.
  2. Team Collaboration:

    • Teams have the flexibility to choose their preferred mode of collaboration.
    • One team member can handle all coding tasks, while others provide support.
    • Alternatively, if multiple team members wish to code, the participant with the Hackerrank account can share their credentials, enabling the entire team to code simultaneously.
  3. Fair Play:

    • We strongly emphasize ethical coding practices.
    • Avoid any form of cheating, including copying solutions or using unauthorized resources.
    • Keep in mind that Hackerrank employs AI-powered plagiarism detection to maintain competition integrity.
  4. Physical Participants:

    • For those joining us in person, please arrive at the venue in the IIT Bambalapitiya building by 7:30 AM.
    • The coding competition will commence promptly at 8:00 AM.
    • WIFI access will be provided by IIT, and refreshments will also be available.

    Location: Lab - 5LA and 5LB on the 5th floor of the IIT Bambalapitiya building.

  5. Online Participants:

    • Online participants, join the Zoom meeting using the link shared at 7:30 AM.
    • Please rename yourself as follows: "Team Name | Participant Name."
    • You will be assigned to breakout rooms based on your team.
  6. Competition Start:

    • The link to begin the coding competition will be shared with all participants 15 minutes before the competition officially starts.

Scoring

  • Each challenge has a pre-determined score.
  • A participant’s score depends on the number of test cases a participant’s code submission successfully passes.
  • Participants are ranked by score. If two or more participants achieve the same score, then the tie is broken by the total time taken to submit the last solution resulting in a higher score
