About

You'll have 90 minutes to solve two algorithm tasks. You can solve the challenges in any of the major programming languages (e.g. C++, C#, Go, Haskell, Java, Javascript, Python, Scala).

The first question can give you 10 points and the second question can give you 15 points.

Prizes

Prizes for the top 3 participants:

  1. DJI Tello drone with the “Fly More Combo”
  2. Amazon Echo Spot
  3. NES Classic Edition

Rules

  • The creator of this contest is solely responsible for setting and communicating the eligibility requirements associated with prizes awarded to participants, as well as for procurement and distribution of all prizes. The contest creator holds HackerRank harmless from and against any and all claims, losses, damages, costs, awards, settlements, orders, or fines.
  • Code directly from our platform, which supports over 30 languages. Learn more here.

Dos:

  1. If you need to look at the Online Java Documentation or any other programming language documentation because you forgot the syntax, feel free to do so.
  2. You can use your own IDE if you want.
  3. Submit your code as many times as you want. There is no penalty for incorrect submission.
  4. Come back in front of the main televisions once the challenge is done.

Don'ts:

  1. Discuss solutions with your other participants before the end of the challenge.
  2. Try to find solution on Stack Overflow, Wikipedia or any other website.

Scoring

  • Each challenge has a pre-determined score.
  • A participant’s score depends on the number of test cases a participant’s code submission successfully passes.
  • If a participant submits more than one solution per challenge, then the participant’s score will reflect the highest score achieved. In a game challenge, the participant's score will reflect the last code submission.
  • Participants are ranked by score. If two or more participants achieve the same score, then the tie is broken based on who submitted all the solutions first.
