The contest is a part of Prabuddha 2017, the annual technical fest of Techno India College of Technology. The contest consists of 4 problem statements, out of which you have to solve 2 problems, within 1.5 hours.

Rules

  • The creator of this contest is solely responsible for setting and communicating the eligibility requirements associated with prizes awarded to participants, as well as for procurement and distribution of all prizes. The contest creator holds HackerRank harmless from and against any and all claims, losses, damages, costs, awards, settlements, orders, or fines.

Rules and Regulations: 1)Rounds 1 and 2 will be held on 17/05/2017 . 2)All 1st,2nd,3rd and 4th year students, except committee members , coordinators and volunteers of Prabuddha 2017, are eligible to participate in this contest. 3) All contestants are required to present a valid student identification card.If anyone is unable to do so, he/she will be immediately disqualified from the contest. 4)Contestants are not allowed to carry anything except pens. Blank sheets of paper will be provided. 5)Contestants who qualify in one round can participate in the next. 6)The first round will consist of multiple choice questions .In the next round, there will be a set of problem statements which have to be solved within a certain time. 7)Round 2 will be held in HackerRank. So, you need to have a HackerRank account and register here for the contest : https://www.hackerrank.com/code-a-thon-4 8)Each contestant will be allowed to use only a single computer and must write and test his/her programs on that machine, wholely within the contest room. 9)Contestants may write their programs in any of these languages : C,C++,Java,Python,Perl. 10)Contestants should be familiar with the HackerRank platform. 11)Do not use any unnecessary print statements like "Enter the data" in your code. 12)For object oriented languages, your code should be only within a single class. 13)For C and C++, return type of main() should be int. 14)Your input statements should be only within main(). 15)Contestants can submit only a single answer to each of the given problems. 16)All contestants will be given the same set of problems to solve. 17)Programs will be evaluated using a set of test cases.A program will be considered wrong if it fails to work on one or more of the test cases. 18)Ties will be broken by the total time for each contestant in ascending order of time. 19) All solutions must be written from scratch. No modification of pre-existing code is allowed. No copying of sample and/or help files will be allowed. 20)No use of the Internet is allowed. 21)Contestants are not allowed to discuss anything with the other contestants during the contest. 22)The following activities will result in immediate disqualification of any contestant: a)Violating the rules of the event at any stage of the contest. b)Providing false information to become eligible for the prizes. c)Misbehaving with any other participant or contest administrators at any stage of the contest. d)Using content that is lewd, racist, pornographic, sexist, or otherwise unfitting for the contest. e)Getting involved in any malicious activity during any stage of the contest. f)Deliberate damage done to college property. 23)Decisions of the judges will be final.

Scoring

  • Each challenge has a pre-determined score.
  • A participant’s score depends on the number of test cases a participant’s code submission successfully passes.
  • If a participant submits more than one solution per challenge, then the participant’s score will reflect the highest score achieved. In a game challenge, the participant's score will reflect the last code submission.
  • Participants are ranked by score. If two or more participants achieve the same score, then the tie is broken by the total time taken to submit the last solution resulting in a higher score
