CSI-KJSCE CODEWARS is an inter-departmental competitive programming contest. All KJSCE students from any Department and year of study can participate and represent their department.

Prizes

  • Round 1 and Round 2 scores will together be considered for prizes
  • There are no prizes for individual rounds
  • Winning Department will recieve the prestigious CODEWARS Trophy!
  • Exclusive certificates of Merit will be provided to top coders irrespective of their department.

Rules

  • The creator of this contest is solely responsible for setting and communicating the eligibility requirements associated with prizes awarded to participants, as well as for procurement and distribution of all prizes. The contest creator holds HackerRank harmless from and against any and all claims, losses, damages, costs, awards, settlements, orders, or fines.

  • Participants are not allowed to discuss solutions
  • Solutions to any challenge must not be made public before end of Round 2.
  • Any form of plagiarism will result in immedidate disqualification
  • CSI-KJSCE has the right to disqualify any participant without notice.

Scoring

  • Each challenge has a pre-determined score.
  • A participant’s score depends on the number of test cases a participant’s code submission successfully passes.
  • If a participant submits more than one solution per challenge, then the participant’s score will reflect the highest score achieved. In a game challenge, the participant's score will reflect the last code submission.
  • Participants are ranked by score. If two or more participants achieve the same score, then the tie is broken by the total time taken to submit the last solution resulting in a higher score.
  • Departmental scores will be calculated as follows:
    • Scores of Top 10 coders from your department will be added to your department's score
    • For every code submission with more than 50% score from other coders, their department will get 5 points.
    • For every valid registration, the respective department will get 1 point
    • Total score from Round 1 and Round 2 will decide the winner
    • Incase of tie, department with higher ranked top coder on HackerRank Leaderboard will be ranked higher
    • Individual participants' rank will appear on contest leaderboard
    • If two participants have same rank, time of submission from start of contest will be used to break the tie
    • Overall ranks of Individuals as well as Departments of Round 1 and Round 2 combined will appear on CSI-KJSCE app
